By now Instagram should have learnt it’s lesson.
Indeed the likes of Instagram are more complicit in perpetuating the millions of scams taking place in the world today.
It seems that every scammer is verified on Instagram, at this point we might as well use the verification Instagram check mark as a sign that something is very much amiss. First it was Hush Puppy, then the invictus dude now this….
Apparently 400 cows were donated, 67 private jets landed the venue, plus a fleet of over 500 luxury cars….A burial turned into a ceremony as loud as loud can be.
In a country where money is tight for the majority and in the middle of a bloody pandemic, this chap goes all out flaunting his wealth to millions of people in a show of wealth so callous so disgusting it can’t possibly have been generated by legitimate means.
This man was supposed to be burying his mother and instead he turned the event into a marketing ploy for his night club and to show the World how filthy rich he is!
Dangling from Cubana’s neck was a $100,000 diamond pendant and neck piece in honour of his late mother.
He said he had to replicate his late mother’s face with gemstones.
“Had to cut mama’s face on ice! @obisgallery came through,” he said. Sure you did!
Indeed, Lagos socialite Pretty Mike, claimed Cubana told him that his late mum’s burial “would make people crave death with relish”.
At this event bundles of Naira and dollars were being tossed around with zero respect.
According to Section 21 of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007, a person who sprays the naira risks imprisonment for a term not less than six months or a fine not less than N50,000 or to both.
When asked in a telephone interview whether the EFCC would go after naira abusers at Obi Cubana’s funeral, Uwujaren said, “We do not give out the plans of the commission.”
Meanwhile the place was littered with poverty stricken children and the dude couldn’t even use the bundles to tar the red dirt road, what a joke, what a country.
So what’s the deal here?
The story is this dude with zero class is worth $500 million in cash and over a billion in assets. And the money was made from clubs and hotels in one of the poorest countries on planet Earth, tell that story to your 2 year old and see if you won’t be laughed out of the room.
Now we left the best part of this saga for the last… We must say it’s quite a juicy one indeed, Mr Cubano has responded with a series of rants on instagram and BBC and it makes for quite the read. Our team deconstructed one of the prominent rants in a few sentences(see our deconstruction and verdict below the rant)
“I want to state this clearly, I am not the talking type or Social media interest free person”
Obi Cubana; finally speaks
“Many have questioned the type of boys and friends I have, to me, I hardly address anyone as my boy because we are all boys to God Almighty.
I don’t have any boy who is into rituals, if you are my boy or my man because I like to address my boys as my men, it means you are working hard and you made your money in a clean way.
In 2013, I pushed 53 uneducated Oba boys into the market to learn trading. In 2017, I withdrew all of them from their Ogas and settled all of them with 3million Naira each and paid for their shops.
I linked 40 of them into importation and made them use my name and platform to import goods into the country. After two years, I checked on them how they were doing and find out some had issues and I supported them again to stand.
I am happy today that out of the 53 men, 38 are billionaires while the rest are in the level of a millionaire.
In 2018, I took 100 educated men out of streets and introduced them to the white men for business and today there are billionaires in dollars.
They also help me in their capacity when I require their help. All their friends both Nigeria and outside patronises me.
I am into hotel and club business and I have so many businesses I am brand ambassadors to.
I have alliance with spirit drinks and wines, I am brand to many businesses in the world.
It gives me joy to see my men do well, non of my hotel managers in Nigeria can small poverty, I encourage them to raise others from their local communities. I have never sacked a worker due to misconduct, I bring you in and speak to you the way you will understand.
I have this understanding that we should allow the stubborn people to exist and cool headed people to exist and we make use of them when their needs arises.
I don’t believe in the supremacy of power rather I believe in the fare share of power and authority and allow everyone to feel belonged.
I have many uncountable people through my hotel business, I have encouraged many, I have made a lot of friends millionaires and billionaires because it gives me joy. @obi_cubana
Deconstruction of RANT!
100 educated men out of the street and they are billionaires in dollars! Pls which legitimate Nigerian billionaires do you not know about and not listed on Forbes not to speak about one hundred of them 😅
Mr Cubano we ask that you name all one hundred of the billionaires in USD!
VERDICT AND PREDICTION FOR MR CUBANO FUTURE
He will be nailed, this is always the misjudgment of these sort of characters, they bring unnecessary attention and mispredict how far jealous people will go!
UPDATE
Just as predicted things indeed have started heating up for Obi Cubano
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) interrogated him over the payment of three different tranches of money by drug pushers convicted in New Delhi, India; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Lagos, Nigeria, into his various bank accounts.
Before July 2021, the 46-year-old nightlife entrepreneur remained blurred from the radar of the public until the carnival-like funeral of his mother on July 16, 2021.
The moment Obi Cubana over-exposed himself, it’s a no brainer even for a layman to know it was only a matter of time before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) starts digging into his finances. MOney launering is big business in Nigeria indeed.
