My dear unmasked Slaylebrity tribe, today I come to you with a burning anger that cannot be contained. The recent visit of Meghan and Harry to Nigeria, parading around like the royals they so desperately want to be, but there was a silver lining President Tinubu could not be bothered to even give them the time of day and rightly so.
Let us not forget that Meghan and Harry are nothing but two reality TV personalities, who have made a career out of exploiting their titles and connections for fame and fortune. They flit around the world like pea-cocking fools, expecting to be treated like royalty wherever they go. But let me remind you, they are no longer senior members of the British royal family, and their relevance, if it ever existed, has long since expired.
So, why then, did the Governor of Lagos, a man who should be focusing on the pressing issues facing his state, waste his time meeting with these two self-absorbed individuals? Did he not have more important matters to attend to? Are the lives and well-being of the Nigerian people not worthy of his attention? It is truly disappointing to see a leader prioritize photo-ops with frivolous celebrities over the needs of their constituents.
But let us not forget the gold in this absurd circus act. President Bola Tinubu, in his wisdom, refused to play into Meghan and Harry’s delusions of grandeur. He saw through their charade, and rightly chose to distance himself from their antics. I commend President Tinubu for his discernment and his refusal to engage with these attention-seeking impostors.
It is a disgrace to see Meghan and Harry parade around Nigeria, expecting to be treated like royalty, when in reality, they are nothing more than glorified reality TV stars. Their visit does nothing to benefit the country or the people. It serves only to stroke their egos and fuel their insatiable hunger for attention.
I urge Nigerians to see through the façade of Meghan and Harry, and to demand better from their leaders. You deserve leaders who prioritize the needs of their constituents over the superficial whims of celebrity culture. You deserve leaders who are focused on improving the lives of the Nigerian people, not pandering to the whims of two vacant narcissists.
To wrap this sorry situation up , let us not be fooled by the empty spectacle of Meghan and Harry’s visit to Nigeria. Let us demand more from our leaders and hold them accountable for their actions. And let us remember that true royalty is not defined by titles or birthright, but by the integrity and character of the individual. Meghan and Harry may wear crowns in their dreams, but in reality, they are nothing more than two irrelevant celebrities seeking validation in a world that has long since moved on from their tired act. Nigeria deserves better. Nigeria deserves leaders who put the needs of their people above all else.
