Alright, let’s talk about Oscar Pistorius. The man who was once known as the “Blade Runner” and an inspirational figure in the world of sports, is now nothing more than a cold-blooded killer. And the fact that he was able to walk free after serving only 9 years in prison is a clear example of how the justice system favors the rich and famous.

Let’s not beat around the bush here. Oscar Pistorius killed his girlfriend. There’s no doubt about it. He may have tried to spin some sob story about mistaking her for an intruder, but the evidence speaks for itself. Reeva Steenkamp was shot four times through a locked bathroom door. Does that sound like an accident to you? I didn’t think so.

And yet, despite all the evidence pointing to his guilt, Pistorius was able to use his wealth and status to manipulate the legal system. His high-priced lawyers were able to drag the case out for years, and in the end, he only served a fraction of the sentence that a regular person would have received for the same crime.

It’s sickening to think that someone with so much privilege and power can essentially get away with murder. The message this sends is clear: if you have money, you can buy your way out of any situation, no matter how heinous your actions may be. This is a blatant injustice and a slap in the face to the victim and her family.

I can’t help but wonder, if Oscar Pistorius was just an average Joe, would he have received the same leniency from the courts? Would he have been able to afford top-notch legal representation and expert witnesses? I highly doubt it. The system is rigged in favor of the wealthy, and it’s cases like this that highlight just how broken the justice system really is.

The fact that Pistorius is now out on parole and attempting to rebuild his life is a disgusting display of privilege. Meanwhile, Reeva Steenkamp’s family is left to pick up the pieces and live with the knowledge that her killer is walking free.

In a world where the rich and famous can evade justice, it’s no wonder that people are losing faith in the legal system. The scales of justice are clearly tilted in favor of the wealthy, and it’s about time that something is done to level the playing field.

Oscar Pistorius may have thought he could outrun the consequences of his actions, but the truth always has a way of catching up to those who try to cheat it. And as for the justice system, it’s high time for some much-needed reform. The days of the rich and powerful getting away with murder should be over. It’s time for justice to be blind to wealth and status, and for people like Oscar Pistorius to face the full weight of their crimes. It’s time for a system that truly serves and protects all citizens, not just the privileged few. And until that happens, cases like this will continue to fuel the fire of outrage and expose the ugly truth about our so-called justice system. It’s time for change. It’s time for real justice. It’s time for accountability, no matter your bank account or your last name.
