The Chopra Charade: Someone Get Priyanka Chopra a Dress Code

Good people, it’s no mystery why I’m typing this out to each of you. We are on the precipice of a world brimming with obscene extremes. And the one woman who seems unwaveringly dedicated to diving off this precipice? Priyanka Chopra, the headliner of Bollywood gone Hollywood.

Now, don’t get me wrong: I am far from a Victorian prude, and if you know anything about me (the infamous chief Unmasker of Slaylebrities doesn’t wobble his finger about just anything), you will know that I have a deep regard for free spirits and individual expressions. But, there is a respectable line that seems to have vanished in the bright lights and under Chopra’s sparkling hard to ignore couture.

Can someone, a PR representative or a fashion guru perhaps, explain to Priyanka Chopra the stark difference between ‘sexy’ and ‘classy’? Class is about leaving a bit to the imagination; it’s about casting an enchanting aura without bearing it all. Showing skin isn’t inherently a problem, it’s all about how you do it.

At every red-carpet event, it seems as though she’s made a conscious decision to toss class to the wind, disregarding the elegant poise that many of her A-list peers carry. And instead, she opts to bare maximum skin under the pretense of being daring and worse she doesn’t have the body to pull this off! Playing with fashion is one thing, but constantly pushing the boundaries for shock value? Well, that’s just tasteless.

Admittedly, Priyanka Chopra is stunning. That’s an incontestable fact. Yet, it’s increasingly hard to admire her beauty when she’s too occupied trying to convert her glam galas into a burlesque show. Class is not something you wear or discard like a piece of clothing; it’s a behavior, an attitude, it’s how you own the room without having to strip to the nines. It’s something that is inherently within you and transcends fashion.

To Chopra, and to all those trying to break the internet with strategically placed designer fabric: class will remain timeless, while trends will alter like the wind. Make your choice wisely. Be a trendsetter, not a disaster. Stand out in your grace, not your scandal. After all, aren’t the truly great remembered for the elegance they carried, rather than the outfits they barely wore?

So, in conclusion – Priyanka Chopra, it’s high time we revisit the drawing board. We are certainly not ‘policing’ your fashion, rather making a plea for balance. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying fashion and having fun with it. But remember, an outfit doesn’t empower you, your confidence does. The world needs the embodiment of your grace, not the exposure of your wardrobe.

Consider this a friendly wake-up call from a concerned part of the world: class isn’t about the embroidery or the cut of the dress. It’s about the woman wearing it, and the dignity she radiates. So, could someone please send this memo to Priyanka Chopra and ensure she gets the message?
