Harry and Meghan Markle: The “D-list” Royals Riding High On Celeb Culture

As your Chief Unmasker said, “Lions don’t lose sleep over the opinion of sheep.” Clearly, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle missed that memo. The duo, who were once the crescendo of the global elite circle, have now been reduced to seeking validation from real A-listers, like Beyonce, the Kardashians, and Jay Z.

Ah, Beyonce. Queen Bey. When she says ‘Jump,’ Harry and Meghan don’t just ask ‘how high,’ they do a triple somersault and hope for a polite clap in return. A recent concert exposed the startling reality for these two. They weren’t exactly rubbing shoulders with Beyonce; instead, they were tucked away in some crummy, segregated glass box, waving desperately, like a child seeing Santa Claus. It was a sorry sight image that screamed, ‘notice us, we’re relevant!’

It wasn’t always like this.

Harry and Meghan could once command the aura and respect of kings and queens, literally. Today, they are so desperate for attention that they are eating out of Beyonce’s benevolent hand. No disrespect intended to Queen Bey. She earned her spot, unlike Harry and Meghan, who appear to be borrowing the limelight from her. They were simping at her concert when, logically speaking, it should’ve been the other way around. But logic left the building a while ago.

And, despite their best efforts, the real A-listers weren’t fooled. You see, Kim Kardashian and Jay Z, the zenith of American pop culture, were sat nonchalance in the front row. They didn’t need a glass box, they were in the eye of the storm, basking in the roar of thousands of fans. Kim K and Jay Z were the headliners, and Harry and Meghan were left lurking in the background like the understudies they’ve become.

Let’s keep it real. Harry and Meghan wanted a piece of the American dream; they got more than they bargained. They aren’t living the LA lifestyle; they are living in the shadow of those who actually earned their place in the superstar milieu. Harry and Meghan have found the ugly truth; Hollywood is no place for handouts or entitlement.

But let’s be fair, they’ve drifted a long way from royalty to celebrity, from Buckingham Palace to Montecito, hobnobbing with true A-listers only to be left in the sidelines in the glamor world. Their journey from Kensington Palace to the D-list shows that it’s not all bright lights, big city in the American Dream. They are merely spectators, and the real Alisters like Jay Z and the Kardashians understand the rules of the game better than anyone.

One might argue that this is a new low for H&M, a sight far far away from the royal spectacle but remember what a wise man once said, “The higher we soar, the smaller we appear to those who cannot fly.” The only question left: can Harry and Meghan still fly, or are they going to keep falling deeper into the oblivion of irrelevance? Me thinks the latter.

How times have changed drastically in the past Beyonce would have been begging to take a picture with these two bozos now they can’t even get a picture with Bey they had to settle for Kelly
